The Department of City Planning Institute of Architecture of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" invites you to participate in International Scientific Symposium « Arnold Röhring- art and nature in the urban development of the Lviv city» to commemorate the work of Arnold Röhring. Inspector of city parks, of urban gardens director and main gardener of Lviv during the years 1870-1913 embodied the vision of the city as a garden city, creating projects of urban green space (parks, central boulevards, public gardens, private gardens) and oversaw their condition.
• The purpose of the symposium :
• Back from oblivion the name and work of Arnold Röhring- the chief landscape architect of Lviv in 1870-1913 years and a proper assessment of his contribution into the city development;
• Discussion of actual research problemsy, the city’s historical green network preservation and rehabilitation and proposals to resolve them;
• Establishing communication between scientists in the field of historic gardens and park preservation to protect historically-formed green network of the city.
